January 6 and 7th

Yesterday we had a free day. We went to the Punjai Bazar and shop for earrings, scarves and saris. Everything has to be bargained, specially when they noticed that you are not Indian. I then tried vegetarian Indian food. It was quite interesting. Firstly, I had to confessed that I was very annoyed by the spicy everywhere. Later on I learned that it can be reduced. However the question is how you going to ask for, since not all of them speak English. So, that was another challenged action. We then headed out to the dance festial. It was terrific. The combination of music and dance was very different. The dancer looked like 30 years old when in fact she was 50. The music involved theatrical expressions, lots of hand movement, a type o tap dancing and of course the pretty colorful outfits.
Today, we met the Pradad film academy students. They will be helping us to do the documentaries. I am very excited and happy to be here with all these clever students.
Responding to Reggie's question I have to begin saying that the Indians are very spiritual in general. Since they believe in reencarnation, karma and all that, whenever they have challenges or problems in life, they actually accept it. The reason is that if you believe that this life is temporary and that there is no evil, or even that you can be God, you automatically assume that you hae to go trough the problems you are facing because is your destiny or because next life is going to be better. For this reason, I believe they now also remain in such a big poverty and over populated. I was totally surprised how harmless the homeless are. They do not attack or robe you like other countries, again due to their religious believe. That is why they are not resentful to the English people. They do have for instance the British English accent, or the English cars, the english type of train, the english tea time.

I can't dowldoand all my pics here, the internet is slow.

More to come later folks.

Big kiss

Interesting. So did you put on your sari and dance?

It's remarkable how some people have this blind faith in religion.

I believe some religious doctrines were written by the ruling classes, conquerors, invaders. etc. to pacify the people from uprising against injustices! For example, in the Bible which states "turn the other cheek" or "the meek shall inherit the earth". However, crimes against humanity like genocide and slavery have been committed in the name of religion.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!

PS - tell them your friend, Frank ate one of their cousins last night when he had a burger at McDonalds! I know, Bad joke!
